Bungie was quick to respond to an attack by Destiny 2 YouTube Copyright Strike, which affected many creators on the platform, including Bungie itself. A prominent creator named Aztecross who was facing two copyright strikes, and therefore a strike away from his channel was completely removed, deleted it.

Copyright disclaimers about all Destiny creators on YouTube were reported over the last week, affecting Promethean and Breshi, two music archiving channels, as well as the nickname Lore Daddy. Since then, both Promethean and Breshi have had to remove many Destiny 2 videos, and Lore Daddy has had to delete some tweets that implied Bungie as the perpetrator behind the takedowns. Typically, the publisher or developer asks YouTube to publish the strikes in its name.
However, many of the striking YouTube videos followed Bungie’s guidelines, which ask content creators who monetize content to produce videos with at least 20% original content. While many CSC, a partner of Bungie, the developer clarify the situation in a statement. Twitter:
We are aware of a series of copyright rejections on YouTube and we are actively investigating. This includes content on our own Bungie channels.
These actions will NOT be taken at the request of Bungie or our partners. Please stand by for future updates.
It is currently unclear who is guilty of removing the copyright so far, but it does point out the weakness of the automated YouTube system. It allows too easily unverified third parties to try for nefarious takedowns by introducing themselves as a particular company or acting on behalf of the company. This is mainly done to unleash potential competition by attacking the profits of other channels.
