Girouard Street will be transformed into an ephemeral space

TOWN HALL. An ephemeral space will be located near Saint-Frédéric, in the heart of Drummondville city center. Girouard Street will open its pedestrian bridge in April.

This pilot project includes the addition of playful furniture, such as picnic tables, Adirondack / Muskoka chairs and landing areas. The synthetic lawn, work on the plinth and the vegetation will also be arranged on Girouard street, between Brock and Heriot streets.

“This pilot project, which is emerging from the Commission on the Development of the City Center and the Fortissimo Project, will allow the Saint-Frédéric square to be expanded to offer a more permanent animation zone. The activities resume with the beautiful time; the dynamism of the city center will therefore be benefited by this initiative », said the Drummondville mayor, Stéphanie Lacoste.

At the end of the season, the pilot project will be evaluated for an annual return or a possible permanence. (MD)
