Workers at Amazon’s New York City department store on Monday voted against forming a union, giving the organizers a slap in the face for their first success last month. US organizing effort in the story of the retail giant.
Votes were still being tabled, but the ballots cast against the union were enough to defend a second victory for the nascent Amazon Labor Union, a group of former and current workers at the company that leads the organizational effort.
The ballots that were challenged by Amazon or the ALU were not enough to influence the outcome.
