Missguided fashion retailer appoints administrator

Fashion brand Missguided has appointed administrators after its creditors filed for liquidation.

The retailer, which employs around 330 people, has asked Teneo Financial Advisory to sell its business and assets.

The company will continue to trade while it searches for a buyer, Teneo said.

As some of the challenges Missguided has faced, it cited increased supply chain costs, general cost inflation and dwindling consumer confidence in an increasingly competitive marketplace.

Teneo’s Gavin Maher said there was “a high level of interest from a number of strategic buyers.”

He thanked Missguided staff and other key stakeholders for their “support during this difficult time.”
