Emirates calls Heathrow passenger limit unacceptable

Emirates has hit back at Heathrow Airport after demanding airlines halted summer ticket sales, calling the move “inappropriate and unacceptable”.

The airline accused the airport of being “cavious to travelers” after deciding to cap the number of passengers that can depart each day during the summer at 100,000.

Emirates said the number appeared to have been “plucked out of nowhere”.

The limitation on the number of passengers applies from now until September 11th.

In a statement severely criticizing Heathrow management, Emirates said it had 36 hours to reduce passenger numbers booked on its services.

“Their communications not only dictated the specific flights on which we should evict paying passengers, but also threatened legal action for non-compliance,” the airline said.
