Retailer Joules rescued by Next from administration

Clothing giant Joules has been rescued by retail giant Next and founder Tom Joule.

The Leicestershire-based company had gone into administration last month after failing to secure emergency investment.

As part of the bailout deal, Next will take a 74% stake in the company, with Tom Joule owning the rest.

Next said about 100 of Joules’ current 124 stores would remain open, but 19 stores would close.
