Aldi gives staff a further pay bump

Aldi has given its employees another raise, joining other companies who have increased wages due to labor shortages.

The supermarket group will raise the initial rate to £11.40 per hour nationwide and £12.85 in Greater London.

Depending on length of service, some staff could make hourly rates of up to £13.15.

Earlier this month, Pret a Manger gave employees their third raise in a year.

Aldi said 28,000 employees would benefit from the increase.
