Talks between education unions and the government have ended and an offer has been made, according to school leaders’ union, NAHT.
Four unions have been in intensive talks with the Education Secretary since March 17 over teachers’ salaries, working conditions and workload in England.
It follows a series of strikes by teachers who are members of the National Education Union (NEU).
More than half of schools in England have been disrupted by the latest strike.
Paul Whiteman, NAHT’s general secretary, did not share details of the offer and said the union would review it Monday night before deciding next steps.
He said NAHT would not comment further until Tuesday.
The four unions involved in the dispute had called for above-inflation wage increases, funded by extra money from the government rather than from the schools’ existing budgets.
Before the talks began, the Ministry of Education had said it hoped for a “successful conclusion”.
