British Airways has canceled another 1,500 flights, mostly for July.
The latest wave of cancellations will affect tens of thousands of passengers planning to depart from Heathrow and Gatwick this summer.
The industry is struggling with staff shortages as demand for air travel recovers.
British Airways had already cut 10% of scheduled flights between April and October but said further cuts were “regrettably” needed.
A spokesman for the airline said: “We took precautionary measures earlier this year to reduce our summer flight schedule in order to notify customers of changes to their travel plans as early as possible.
“Unfortunately, as the entire aviation industry continues to face the most challenging time in its history, it has become necessary to make some further reductions.”

The airline said it has been in touch with customers to “apologize and offer to rebook them or issue a full refund”.
Hundreds of British Airways check-in workers at Heathrow are deciding strike dates that could further disrupt peak summer holiday travel.
