Tanya Rivero is the anchor of the weekday afternoon CBS News Streaming Network, CBS News’ premier 24/7 streaming news service, covering national and international news as well as breaking news.

Rivero covered U.S. politics extensively and was the first broadcast journalist to interview MP Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez for a network. At first, Rivero acknowledged that the first-time candidate was making significant progress during her campaign to win the seat away from Joe Crowley; Rivero got an interview with AOC before his victory.

Rivero anchored broad live coverage of the 2020 election. On January 6, 2021, when the uprising began at the U.S. Capitol, Rivero was anchoring live coverage of the Congressional vote to ratify the results of the elections. Rivero regularly interviews U.S. lawmakers; most recently, these include Senator Kirsten Gillibrand, Senator Tim Kaine, Senator Tammy Duckworth and MP Judy Chu.

He has overseen broad and in-depth coverage of the country’s Covid-19 pandemic and organized a one-hour CBS News vaccine broadcast special, for which he interviewed Dr. Anthony Fauci. Rivero provided live coverage for hours after the release of Robert Mueller’s report on his investigation into Russian interference in the 2016 presidential election. He also anchored continued coverage of the US attack on Syria. , in response to suspicion of the use of chemical weapons by the Assad regime.

Previously, Rivero was the presenter of “Lunch Break with Tanya Rivero” on WSJ Live, the digital channel of the Wall Street Journal. His daily program covered a wide range of issues and interviewed news executives, from CEOs to heads of state and cultural icons.

Prior to that, Rivero worked as an ABC News presenter and correspondent, presenting “ABC News Now,” “America This Morning,” and “World News Now.” Also on ABC News, she was the host of “Good Morning America Health,” where she won awards for her health reports and “Good Money.” He also reported tos correspondent for “Good Morning America,” “Nightline,” “World News with Diane Sawyer,” and “Weekend World News with David Muir.”

Prior to joining ABC News, Rivero was a reporter and presenter for WCBS-TV. She started in the news as a reporter for “a band” on News 12 The Bronx; she was promoted to anchor after six months.

Rivero is a graduate of Yale University and the Columbia Graduate School of Journalism. She was a professional ballet dancer with the New York City Ballet, before attending Yale. Rivero lives in Manhattan with her husband, two children, a rescue dog and a Ragdoll cat.
