Bruins trade for Ducks defender Hampus Lindholm

The ducks are up for sale it seems what happened to Josh Manson out the door and now it seems that Kevin Weekes, appearing from a number of places where he appears to be today, has apparently received information that has been confirmed Pierre LeBrun.

So that’s neat!

So what’s Hampus Lindholm like?

The best place to get such information is from a Ducks fan, and we only know a few of them! Vun Stefan About Anaheim Calling:

“Lindholm has historically been one of the premier shutdown defenders in the league. However, he has seen a significant dip in his underground numbers in recent years due to Anaheim’s impact players getting out of that role, and younger players are not yet in them. He spent the year with rookie defender Jamie Drysdale, who still teaches the NHL and was not lined up for his defensive impact to begin with.

“I fully expect him to form again in Boston, where he will be part of a strong and cohesive unit, and will finally have some defensive structure in the team he plays for. I also have to imagine Boston trying to beat Lindholm. paired with McAvoy, and if able to find a chemistry, the two could well emerge as one of the best defensive pairs in the NHL.All in all, Hampus Lindholm is a big body, smooth skate defender capable of his size and use his skill to make an impact on both ends of the ice. .All in all, I expect Brown fans, players, and management to fall in love with the reliable Swede and hopefully see him pick up a cup when all is said and done this year.

Thanks, Stephen!

How is he under the hood?

Just like Stephen said, he’s been a little rough this year, but overall he’s a guy we’ve argued for in the past and his impact in general seems to show that he’s a pretty good defender who almost certainly will back in one of the top 5 defenses in the NHL.

  • As you can see, working with Drysdale has caused some … dental problems, let’s name it. Historically, he was pretty good

Hampus Lindholm’s play has slipped in recent years, but he should have more support in Boston. The defender can prevent zone entrances and help bring the puck out of control. pic.twitter.com/drJUlvfLlc

YAH MEE ASS HE IS A BIG MEATY MA-

He is 6’4.

Your size fetish will be satisfied, do not worry.

What do the terms look like?

UPDATE: Pierre LeBrun has the scoop, and it’s apparently a doozy when the trade goes through.

The trade call has not yet happened so nothing is made official, but sounds like a big flight for the Ducks in exchange for Hampus Lindholm when the deal with Boston goes through: a 1st Rd pick this year, 2nd RD pick and 23 , 2. and 24 plus young players…

Must imagine one of the guys like Frederic or DeBrusk or Studnicka plus all those picks go the other way. That’s a steep price for a rental, but if they extend it, it could be made a little more reasonable.

UPDATE UPDATE: According to LeBrun? There was none of them! Amplaz, John Moore and Urho Vaakanainen are rumored to be returning players the other way!

UPDATE AND UPDATE AND UPDATE: The official terms are in!

Full: Lindholm on BOS for 2022 1st, 2023 2nd, 2024 2nd, Urho Vaakanainen and John Moore. Either get 50 percent

In the FIFTZ PERCENT!

First reaction:

Decent work, makes your already good defensive depth better, and you did not lose Fabian Lysell. Need to see what the extension looks like, but otherwise? This was a big W for Sweeney.

Okay, so this is your LHD problem which was not nearly as big an issue as your 2nd line center on the 4th.
