Is Dancing On Ice tonight? Start time and date for finals after cancellation

Dancing On Ice is not as usual tonight [Sunday, March 20] with the final canceled to make room for the Live FA Cup football. Those hoping to vote on ITV this weekend to see how one of the three finalists will be crowned as winners will have to wait until Sunday, March 27, when the show returns.

Instead, the Nottingham Forest v Liverpool match will take place tonight at Dancing On Ice’s regular slot. The start is at 6 pm with coverage from 5.15 pm on the canal.

That means the three finalists will have more time to train on the ice this year as they prepare for the 2022 finals. Still in contention are Brendan Cole, Kimberly Wyatt and Regan Gascoigne.

It comes after Connor Ball and Kye White were selected from the series in a double elimination during the semifinals on Sunday, March 13th. Dancing On Ice has reminded ITV viewers that the show will not air on Sunday, March 20th.

In a statement, they said, “Remember we are not this weekend because of the footwork, but it gives our couples an extra week to train like never before and work on their amazing final routines!” Added: “We’re back on the ice for the finals, next Sunday at 7pm!”

The delay in the Dancing On Ice finale was announced by presenter Phillip Schofield, who was solo last week after co-presenter Holly Willoughby tested positive for Covid-19, at the end of the semifinals. The announcement left many disappointed, especially after ITV also confirmed that Starstruck’s finals were delayed due to the Live Six Nations, such as the Saturday Night Takeaway.

“Sport literally takes over ITV ATM takeaway is not on next week due to rugby and the finals of the dance on ice has been moved to one week due to Fa Cup,” one viewer wrote at the time.

While another added: “Even though I was not happy that the show had to be moved to the FA Cup, the good news is that everyone has two weeks to practice, which should make for an even better final.
