Multiple tornadoes calmed Monday night across central Texas, injuring at least four people as several counties were hit by severe thunderstorms and tornado warnings.
While the storm destroyed power lines and destroyed several residential buildings, there were no reported casualties, something Texas Gov. Greg Abbott and Williamson County Judge Bill Gravell called a “miracle” during a joint news conference Monday night, KVUE reported.
“I want to thank my governor. He was one of the first to call, and he said it would be good,” Gravell said during the press conference, which was quickly met with Abbott’s support.
“I wanted the judge to know that the state is shoulder to shoulder with the people of Williamson County,” Governor Abbott, KVUE reported. “We know you’re facing a devastating storm … we know there are people whose lives have been completely disrupted, but it can also be a miracle, because even if there was some devastating physical damage, to my knowledge, there is no report of loss of life, which is just amazing. “
