Trade Deadline discussed on ‘NHL @TheRink’ podcast

Marc-Andre Fleurymoved to the Minnesota Wilds, Claude GirouxThe decision to vote for the Florida Panthers, and a complete overview of the news and notes of the 2022 NHL Trade Deadline, were discussed on a special edition of the “NHL @TheRink” podcast.

Co-hosts Dan Rosen and Shawn P. Roarke recorded the episode Monday night after the dust cleared from a wild day that featured 33 artisans.

Rosen and Roarke agree that Fleury could be the rare goalkeeper who will make a big impact on his new team after being bought in the deadline. The last to do so was Dwayne Roloson, who helped the Edmonton Oilers advance to the 2006 Stanley Cup Finals.

They also discussed the impact of Giroux’s decision to abandon its no-move clause and what it says about Florida as a destination for NHL players.

As for the New York Rangers who added Andrew Copp in the Taylor Motteand defenders Justin BraunRosen said they will play harder against and spend less time in their zone with an improved under-six forward group.

The co-guests also liked the Pittsburgh Penguins after the addition of the forward Rickard Rakellbut there were questions about Nick Leddy’s fit with the st. Louis Blues and why the Edmonton Oilers did not grow.

The Colorado Avalanche, Anaheim Ducks and Seattle Kraken were among the other teams discussed in the nearly hour-long podcast.

The “NHL @TheRink” podcast is free and listeners can subscribe to all podcast platforms. It’s also available at NHL.com/multimedia/podcasts in the NHL app.
